Other Art Work & Paintings
All creative people like to experiment with different ideas, mediums, techniques and styles. Over the years I have been involved in all manner of artistic projects at various sizes from huge stage backcloths down to the tiny match box sized hand painted miniature copies of old masters I am perhaps best known for and which are commissioned by collectors around the globe. Here you'll find examples of some of my not so tiny art work and paintings. In my youth I won prizes in national competition for my traditional wildlife illustration, where more recently I have taken an interest in transport art and digital painting. I do like to play with bold lighting and strong shadows to create drama in a decorative image more than relying on the subject matter itself for interest. However, having been involved with a variety of types of painting project and done a lot of copy-art of old masters I have tried to avoid developing any one style as my own as it helps to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the subject, rather than adapt a project to fit a particular style.
Outside of painting as a collectible form of art to hang on the wall I've also been employed as an illustrator doing graphical design type work for the occasional educational or marketing projects. Beyond the the more traditional aspects of regular art I've also been challenged with some pretty eclectic and unusual projects working on 'canvases' as bizzare as insects and tiny cheeses, to helping with digital textures for video games. Consequently I am always happy to discuss any ideas for commissions that people may wish to run by me.
